Educational Benefits Of Social Networking Sites

Researchers of University of Minnesota have discovered the educational benefits of social-networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and MySpace etc.

About 95% of the university students aged between 16-18 are using social networking sites.

The survey found that 94% of students use Internet and 81 % of them go online after reaching home and 77 to 78% had their profile on social-networking sites.

While survey, students asked they learn technology skills, enhance their knowledge, communication skills, and confidence and update their minds to new events and discoveries and know about their friend’s activities etc.

Therefore technology is not bad but its use makes it right and wrong.

A project by Google a new innovative technology introduced in the world of social networking is the “Google+”.

Google+ comes with some new ideas containing the existing features what Facebook had, example photo & video sharing, messaging and comments etc but also solving the privacy issues that the Facebook is facing from years.

Google+ is said to be good in managing the privacy issues, which is said to be its plus point in winning the social media war.

This function will allow you make a circle or group of your friends that you want to share your updates and different types of contents. So the things share will be seen by only those friends that are in the particular circle, so according to Google, “Share the stuff with right peoples don’t mix it with the others. So Google+ will help you to differentiate your close friends from just friends, relatives and even Boss.

2 Sparks

This feature will allow you to connect with others with some special interests, so it allows you to choose your own list of interest what you like. Then it becomes the turn of Google it will collect all the relevant content related to that interest and topic and will allow you to choose which circles will view that content, i.e. another dominating search facility against Facebook.

3 Huddle

It is a simple type of group messaging. It converts conversations in to simple type of group chat, so everyone will get the same page and message at once.

4 Hangouts

This feature will act as a killer capsule to Facebook. It is a kind of group video chat and conference. One can create hangout of about 10 peoples. By analyzing this feature it is will totally change and create a revolution in the usage of social networking.

Beside these features it has some of more functions too, like “Stream” that contains news feeds and another function is, instant upload, you can upload photos, messages, comments and videos from your mobile and PC instantly and easily.

So you can easily share your recent photos to your circle only, and keeping your privacy as well.

Google had made all the internet facility under one roof, for the search option it had made ‘Google search”, for mail their is a “Gmail”, for photos, “Picasa”, for videos there is unique “Youtube”, and now the new step in social networking named as “Google+ and others applications such as Google Maps & Earth etc, so Google had covered all the online daily needs so what is the need for the Facebook?

So who will win the race will be known in the coming future, but the race has not been started yet, as Google+ is not launched worldwide, you may say it is working slow and steady and may win the race.

Face Recognition Technology added to Facebook !!

This feature will automatically be enabled for Facebook users, and now it is expanded from United States to most countries.

It will speed up the process of adding and recognizing friends and will show the true picture of the profile, added to it will also improve the security.

Some of the technology companies raised the questions that the Facebook user said the, The Facebook had enabled this face recognition option without giving any notice to the users.

However Facebook team said, they are sure that peoples will roll over it and will be glad when they will use this.

Now if the issue remains of photo tagging, then during the addition of new photos, only friends may be enabled to view it, this feature may be disable for the privacy settings.

Now the main thing is the response of the users towards new technology, its worldwide recognition, and like dislikes.
